Proud Recipient of Landscape Improvement Award
Landworks, Inc. ~ 2013 Landscape Improvement Award Winner
CONGRATULATIONS to our Residential Projects Manager, Bryan Yates, with lead installer Matt Jonas, for winning the MAGICouncil Merit Award for Residential Design/Build for projects under $25,000 (Davis project), on behalf of Landworks, Inc. Kudos to Nathan, Fred & Miguel for their assistance on the job also. You guys did a beautiful job!
The design for this project included an 800 square foot paver patio, circular seating wall, fire pit, steps and landscaping. Accent lighting was used for the seating wall, columns and steps to illuminate & enhance the space. A retaining wall was built to level grade. Naturalistic moss boulders were used to accent the landscaping and provide an eye-pleasing sight to the steps leading to the house entry.
The space originally had a wood deck installed. Our crews disassembled and removed the deck. The ground surface was on a sloped grade, so our crews built a 2 foot retaining wall, backfilled and compacted with base material to avoid future settling. The large, 800 sq ft patio and fire pit needed proper drainage, therefore crews tied downspout and fire pit drainage systems together, leading water away from the house so no settling would occur on the patio areas.
